The Mariners take on the Atlanta Braves in Game 2 of the series, as they look to make it five series wins in a row, sitting atop the AL West. The Mariners' pitching staff has been fantastic for the last 15 games. Now, it's the offense's turn to get things going, especially the guys that Jerry Dipoto acquired in the offseason.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Luis Castillo will get the start for the Mariners, as he has finally started to look like the pitcher we all know and love. Castillo gave up four runs in each of his first three starts. Since then, he has had three quality starts in three outings, allowing a total of four earned runs while striking out 24 batters. He will look to silence the Braves batters in this one.
  • Reynaldo Lopez will get the start for the Atlanta Braves. The Braves signed Lopez to a three-year, $10M deal this offseason and turned him back into a starter. Many of the writers at SoDo Mojo wanted the Mariners to sign Lopez this offseason. Lopez has been one of the best starters in baseball so far in 2024. Lopez has four quality starts with an 0.72 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 24 strikeouts on the season. The Mariners' hitters will have their work cut out for them in this one.
