Game three will be a big momentum game for both sides. You will head into the finale of a four-game set with the opportunity for a huge series win. Both teams have been two of the hottest teams in baseball and this is a great chance to solidify that. The Mariners' offense came alive, fueled by a grand slam from Cal Raleigh and a big day from Dylan Moore, who has been excellent since JP Crawford hit the injured list. We should be in for a solid pitcher's duel, but the offense will need to continue the momentum from last night.

Mariners vs Twins: Probable starting pitchers

  • The Mariners will roll with RHP George Kirby (3-2, 3.76 ERA), a perfect situation for the team to secure a series split at worse. Kirby, and pretty much every Mariners pitcher, has been absolutely dominant, striking 28 over his last 24 innings, and will look to continue that tonight. The Twins lineup is a solid one that can beat you 1-9, so Kirby will need to be smart tonight. The bullpen might be a little taxed after having to cover five innings yesterday. That plus the loss of Saucedo and the team not having a day off until next Thursday, and Kirby really needs to get this team through six innings, if not more.
  • RHP Chris Paddack (3-1,4.78 ERA) will square off against the Mariners and he has been very up and down. In two starts this year, he has given up 13 runs, but in his other four starts, he has only given up four runs. Paddack doesn't walk a lot of batters, so the Mariners will need to be aggressive, but not overly aggressive, because Paddack can string together some strikeouts, as he did on April 22nd when he struck out 10 over seven innings. Paddack has a good fastball that he likes to use a lot (42% of the time) and an elite extension, which has led to an 86th percentile fastball run value. This could be a pitcher's duel tonight, enjoy!
