One of the most special days on the baseball calendar is just about here, and Seattle Mariners fans have more reasons than most to be hyped about Opening Day for the 2025 season.
The M's are going into the new campaign off four straight seasons of 85-plus wins, and they're a legitimate contender for both the American League West title and what would be the first World Series appearance in franchise history.
It all begins Thursday night at T-Mobile Park against the Athletics, and here's how you can watch.
How to watch the Mariners' Opening Day game against the Athletics
First pitch for the Mariners' opener is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PT, and will be broadcast by ROOT Sports for the Seattle market and by NBC Sports California for the Sacramento and Bay Area markets.
For fans who are not in either market, the best streaming option is MLB.tv. Subscription plans cost $29.99 per month or $149.99 for the year.
As we covered last week, the Mariners also have a brand new direct-to-consumer streaming platform that is available to fans in select areas.
This is the ROOT Sports Stream app, which offers every Mariners game broadcast by ROOT Sports. The plan costs $19.99 per month and has no blackouts and does not require a cable subscription. However, it is only available to fans in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alaska and certain parts of Idaho.
The Mariners' primary broadcasters on the television side will be Aaron Goldsmith on play-by-play with Jay Buhner, Dave Valle, Angie Mentink, and Ryan Rowland-Smith in analyst roles. Notably, Mentink is the first woman in team history to work in a regular role as an in-game color analyst.
