The Seattle Mariners will send Wade Miley to the mound today in Baltimore to face the best home team in all of baseball, the Orioles and Ubaldo Jimenez.

The Seattle Mariners (21-16) are a very good road team and will clash with the Baltimore Orioles (23-13) Tuesday evening in Baltimore. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 pm.  Wade Miley (3-2, 4.91 ERA) will take the hill for the Mariners, and Ubaldo Jimenez (2-3, 4.87 ERA) will be opposing Mariners for the Orioles.

Wade Miley gave up four runs to the Tampa Bay Rays in six innings in his last start and won.  In that game he gave up just four hits and one walk and had six strikeouts.  Miley has pitched well in his last four starts.  The Mariners have won all four contests.  He’s kept the Mariners in most of the games he has pitched and given the team a chance to win.  That’s exactly what a team expects from their starters.

Ubaldo Jimenez gave up five runs in five innings on four walks and nine hits in his last start against the Detroit Tigers.  He’s been up and down his last couple of starts and as you can see has really struggled at times.  He gave up six runs to the Chicago White Sox  in four and two thirds innings in another start.  Jimenez has traditionally been a good starter and will look to regain his form at home against the Mariners.

Mariners skipper Scott Servais and Orioles manager Buck Showalter have released the following lineups for tonight’s game:

Picks to Click

Robinson Cano is the leader of this team and will show that again tonight at the plate.  He’s hit two home runs off of Ubaldo Jimenez in 11 at bats and will have a good night tonight.  Nelson Cruz will be facing a former team and as is the case when players play former teams, they play with emotion.  Cruz will have a stellar series against Baltimore.  So, the three and four hitters in the lineup for the Mariners are my picks to click and they will look to have a good night tonight against Jimenez and the Orioles bullpen.

Final Score Prediction

The Mariners will end their three game losing streak and beat the Orioles 6-3.  The Mariners play better on the road than they do at home.  The Mariners offense has steadily been heating up.  This team has been playing well and the bullpen has had a short let down in the recent series but this team is too good not to fix the issues and regain their traction down the stretch.  Joaquin Benoit has been activated for tonights game.  Mayckol Guaipe has been optioned to Tacoma.
