There's no going back now. The Seattle Mariners' 2025 season officially got underway on Thursday. All they can do now is play the rest of their 161 games and try to win more than they lose.
There should be more winning than losing. That has been the Mariners' M.O. for the last four seasons, and their upside for 2025 arguably goes higher than any other team in the American League West. If it isn't "World Series or bust," it's close.
And yet, there are parts of the Mariners' roster that are liable to make one uneasy. Those parts will now come into focus as we look closer at four players who could make or break the team's season.
