Mariners probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Minnesota Twins, May 9
With the series set to wrap up in Minnesota against the Twins, here are the probably pitchers and starting lineups for the Mariners series finale
The Mariners are set to wrap up their four-game series with the Twins this morning in Minnesota. Yes, you read that right, this morning. The game will start at 10:10 AM PT, so make sure to tune in while you're "working" to listen to the game. After a fantastic comeback in the second game that featured arguably the best offense of the season for the Mariners, they got rocked early in the third game, and could never catch up.
They'll look to avoid their first series loss since the Cubs back through April 12-14, working to earn the split against the Twins. Let's check out the lineups and probably pitchers for todays game.
Mariners vs Twins: Probable starting pitchers
- The Mariners finish out the series with Walter taking the mound, as RHP Logan Gilbert (3-0, 1.69 ERA) toes the rubber looking to earn the Mariners a series split. He is actually the league leader in ERA so far this season, posting a 1.02 ERA over his last five starts, and is coming off one of the best starts of his career in a magnificent 8.0 IP scoreless outing against the Astros.
- RHP Pablo Lopez (3-2, 4.30 ERA) looks to give the Mariners their first losing series in nearly a month. His season is going better than his ERA shows, as he is sporting a FIP of 3.48 and a WHIP of 1.035, both great numbers. Lopez has been up and down this season, with a handful of rough games, but a handful of games with just one earned run as well. He has an impressive K rate this year, so don't be surprised to see him K 8-10 Mariners today.
