While the next few weeks will be dominated by trade rumors, the Seattle Mariners have a lot of work to do when it comes to the MLB draft. The Mariners have been a draft and develop team and this time of year is paramount for a Seattle team that places a heavy emphasis on the draft.
Over the next week or so, while Dipoto and Hollander will be looking for ways to improve the major league club, there will also be an emphasis on getting their newly acquired prospects signed to be pieces of the Seattle Mariners.
While the Mariners have just over $9.5 million in signing pool money, they could get creative. They have elite young pitching at the major league level and one of the top farm systems in the game that boasts some of the best positional prospects. While the team doesn't have the type of flexibility they had last year, with three picks in the top 30, they will surely look to maximize their bonus pool to acquire a plethora of young talented players.
