The Seattle Mariners' big league squad is going through some ups and downs. After a rough series in Houston, their lead in the division is down to just 1.5 games. On the bright side, they still have a 51.4 percent chance to win the division and a 73.9 percent chance to crack the postseason at FanGraphs.

Even more exciting is the possibility that the best players in the Mariners' farm system haven't made it to the majors just yet.

The Mariners aren't short on prospect talent. They have quite a few names on top 100 lists and have continued to add more. Perhaps the best illustration of just how stacked the farm is the Everett AquaSox who were recently labeled one of the best minor league teams in April. With three top 100 prospects and eight top 30 prospects, there's a surplus of notable names.

The Everett AquaSox are absolutely loaded with future Mariners stars

Spearheading the lineup is outfielder Lazaro Montes, whose 151 wRC+ leads all qualified hitters on the team. Given his impressive power numbers, he has already drawn impressive big league comparisons.

Not far behind him are infielders Michael Arroyo and Colt Emerson, who are having impressive seasons in their own rights. Emerson has continued to impress scouts, while Arroyo has been absolutely unstoppable at the plate this past month.

On the mound, the most recognizable name is undoubtedly switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje. His first year of professional baseball has had mixed results, but it looks like he's starting to move in the right direction. Based on what we've seen already, his future as a true switch-pitcher may be in jeopardy, but it seems like the Mariners haven't given up hope on him just yet.

The other top prospects on the AquaSox include Tai Peete, Josh Caron, Brock Moore, and Luis Suisbel, all of whom are MLB Pipeline Top 30 names.

Peete in particular is someone to keep an eye on. After being taken in the first round of the 2023 draft at just 17 years old, he's found success with his outstanding athleticism, but hasn't quite put it together at the plate just yet. In his first full minor league season, he posted a 103 OPS+ while stealing 45 bases with Single-A Modesto. This year, his wRC+ of 69 and declining plate discipline numbers signal that there might be more work to be done before he's ready for the higher levels of the minors.

This may be the most exciting minor league roster the Mariners have put together in quite some time. The 2021 season saw Double-A Arkansas trot out Julio Rodríguez, George Kirby, and Matt Brash, but even that doesn't compare to the sheer potential found in Everett right now. Many of these names are expected to be called up within the next few years, so even if 2025 isn't the season that sees Seattle return to the playoffs, they might get the opportunity soon enough.
