Yesterday the Mariners lost 3-1 to the Cleveland Indians. Today Felix Hernandez (0-1 2.92 ERA) and the Seattle Mariners (15-13) take on the San Diego Padres (9-19) at Peoria Stadium in Peoria, Arizona. The Padres will send out RHP Tyson Ross (0-2 9.00 ERA) to face the King. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 PM.

Felix Hernandez looked great in his last start against his last start against the White Sox. He pitched six scoreless innings only giving up 5 hits with no walks. Hernandez has been fairly consistent this spring in his three starts, posting a 1.30 WHIP with 12 strikeouts. This will be the King’s last Catus League start this Spring, as he scheduled to open the season April 4th against the Texas Rangers. Felix will only pitch a couple innings today for his final tuneup. Pitchers Mike Montgomery, Vidal Nuno, Don Roach, Mayckol Guaipe, Blake Parker and Joel Peralta should also all see action in today’s game.

Here is the Mariners lineup for today’s game:

Notable starters missing from today’s action are third baseman Kyle Seager, first baseman Adam Lind and outfielders Nori Aoki and Leonys Martin. Dan Robertson, starts the game in today center field in place of Martin. Robertson will most likely (fingers crossed) be on the opening day roster, if the Mariners do in fact open the season with 11 relievers.

You can watch today’s game on Root Sports and it can also be streamed on MLB.tv through your connected devices. Fans in the Pacific Northwest can catch the game on 710 ESPN.
