A’s Commit 4 Errors in Loss

The Oakland A’s lead the league with 32 errors in 2015, and they gifted the game to the Mariners’ this evening. Seattle did well to capitalize on the Athletics’ miscues, but anytime the opposition commits 4 errors, you had better come out on top. Of the 7 runs the M’s pushed across, just 5 were earned.

Shortstop Marcus Semien was the worst offender, but Brett Lawrie and Jesse Hahn both cost the A’s runs tonight. Good pitching and solid defense are the formula every team strives to have, and Oakland feel well shy of this tonight.

Hopefully, the A’s will have just as much trouble making routine plays tomorrow afternoon. The Athletics will have a hard time winning this season if their defense does not improve significantly.
