Looking Ahead
The Mariners continue to climb the American League West standings, and after tonight’s win, Seattle sits in 3rd place. The M’s trail the division leading Houston Astros by 6.5 games.
The Seattle Mariners (13-17) will try to sweep the Oakland A’s (12-20) tomorrow afternoon at Safeco Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 pm from the corner of Edgar & Dave. Felix Hernandez (5-0, 1.73 ERA) has been on a tear this season, and he will hope to notch his 20th career win against the A’s on Sunday. Jesse Chavez (1-2, 1.80 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Athletics in the series finale. Root Sports Northwest will carry the game live, and MLB.tv subscribers can watch on connected devices.
