Top of the M’s Lineup Sparkles in the Emerald City

The Seattle Mariners were led offensively by the top four hitters in their lineup on Saturday night at Safeco Field. All told, the top 4 hitters went 8 for 16 with 3 RBI’s and 5 runs scored.

Seth Smith did a nice job as the M’s leadoff hitter, going 2 for 3 with a walk, double and an RBI. Justin Ruggiano replaced Smith in the outfield, and went 1 for 1 with a run scored and a stolen base. Brad Miller went 0 for 4, but his 8-pitch walk in the 8th was very impressive. Robby Cano finished 3 for 5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Nelson Cruz had yet another multi-hit game, finishing 2 for 3 with a walk, double, RBI and run scored.
