Wow, what an offseason the Seattle Mariners have had so far. I have been sitting back over the last couple of days reminiscing over how I felt watching the free agency period go almost all the way into the Winter Meetings before the Mariners made a move.

I was confused, frustrated, angry, sad, and almost to the point where I was ready to chalk up the 2014 season as a loss. But along came my hero, Jack Zduriencik.

The signings of Willie Bloomquist, Robinson Cano, Corey Hart followed by the trade for Logan Morrison have shown the rest of the AL West that we mean business.

But let us not become overly confident. On paper, these signings (minus Cano) look an awful lot like last year’s free agency period when the M’s acquired the “big bat” of Michael Morse, traded for Kendrys Morales, and signed Raul Ibanez.

The point being, this free agency period cannot be over for the Mariners.

We are not settling for a ‘good’ offseason; we need to be great. There are a lot of rumors circling around the league that involve the Mariners…answer the latest poll question or leave a comment deciding which direction you think the front office should go.
