The Seattle Mariners are getting ready for Spring Training, and we’re looking forward around here to delivering the Spring Training news to everyone.

The last week around here was busy. Yesterday was Jackie Robinson’s 94th birthday, and while the Mariners hadn’t even been formed as a team, he paved the way for many ball players.

There will be a few changes around Safeco Field and construction is underway for the physical changes. The team will also be delivering fireworks to fans on two evenings during the summer. Fans got a sneak peak at what’s going on with Safeco Field at FanFest 2013.

Three Mariners received honors this past week. Ken Griffey Jr. will be inducted into the M’s Hall of Fame. Edgar Martinez received honors of his own recently, the Seattle Sports Star Legends Award. The Hutch Award Luncheon Honored Barry Zito.

There were rumors a-plenty with the alleged leak that Felix Hernandez was talking new contracts with the Mariners (these have since been said to be false). Rumors floated around about Michael Bourn, and Kelly Shoppach was visiting Seattle.

Joel Condreay speculated about potential starting pitcher trades and gave us an early draft preview for the Mariners; J.J. Keller talked about who he thought the top ten Mariners prospects should be; and Matthias Kullowatz explained the value of OBP and slugging for our readers.

There you have a roundup of what’s been going on here at SoDo Mojo. Have a wonderful weekend!
