Seattle Mariners v. Kansas City Royals: Probable Pitchers and Starting Lineups
The AL Central's own Cleveland, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Detroit have been competitive this year, with the Royals securely in second place. Seattle won the first series against Kansas City, yet this will still be an exciting game between two closely matched teams.
Seattle (36-28) and Kansas City (37-26) have similar win-loss records. Seattle has lost two out of their last nine games, while Kansas City has lost six. The Twins and the Padres took series from the Royals, and Kansas City split games with Cleveland. I hope the Dodgers-Yankees matchup on the east coast will not distract from what promises to be a competitive game tonight in Missouri. The Kansas City weather forecast tonight is 80 degrees, 58 percent humidity, and no rain.
Starting Pitchers for Tonight's Mariners vs. Royals Game
This will be a battle between the Texan and the Virginian, as both attended college in their home states.
RHP Bryce Miller (3.18 ERA in 70 IP) will start on the mound for the Mariners. He has won his last two starts against Houston and the Angels, going six innings in each contest. He struggled against the Yankees and the Orioles due to a few errors and low run support.
LHP Daniel Lynch IV (1.50 ERA in 12 IP) is in his fourth year with the Royals and has been called up from Triple-A Omaha three times since early May. He will be pitching tonight in place of Michael Wacha, who fractured his foot. Most recently, Lynch pitched for Brady Singer on May 30 against Minnesota. He pitched five innings, allowing two of his three earned runs off of just five hits. Lynch uses a four-seam fastball, a sinker, a slider, a changeup, and a knuckle curveball. He throws the first two in the low 90s and the others in the low-to-mid 80s. He strikes batters out most often with his slider.

Game Notes
- While I am glad there are no thunderstorms in the forecast, this is a significant change in weather for the Mariners' players. Will this affect their performance?
- Bobby Witt, Jr. (SS) continues to be hot with a .317 batting average, 80 hits, 16 doubles, six triples, 11 home runs, 46 RBI, and 19 stolen bases.
- Salvador Perez (C) has a .309 BA, 69 hits, 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 41 RBIs, and 18 walks.
- Maikel Garcia (3B) and Dairon Blanco (LF) have been stealing bases, 14 and 12 respectively. Will this motivate Julio Rodriguez and others to steal some bases?
I enjoy watching the Mariners play the Royals. Go Mariners!
