Seattle Mariners probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Kansas City Royals, June 8

Well last night sucked... The Mariners scored seven runs in the first inning and two more later on in the game. But Bryce Miller wasn't himself and gave up seven runs and then Ryne Stanek had an atrocious ninth inning where he gave up three runs in a 10-9 Mariners loss. Can the Mariners forget about yesterday and rebound in game 2?

There is something about when the Royals play the Mariners that ticks me off. The Mariners just struggle to win games against them. The Mariners were up 8-0 at one point last night. It was probably one of the more frustrating losses of the season. We know this team struggles to hit but they make up for it with their pitching. Well, last night it was the opposite.

The Mariners will look to even the series today and hopefully have a rubber match tomorrow. There is no other team right now that I want the Mariners to win a series against more than the Royals, they have been so annoying for the Mariners.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Luis Castillo will try to help the Mariners forget the loss from last night. Castillo has been on quite the tear. Pitching a quality start in his last 9 of 10 starts and 10 starts in a row going 5 innings or more and giving up 2 runs or less. Castillo will look to keep it rolling against the Royals.
  • Alec Marsh will go for the Royals in game two of the series. Marsh has pitched better than he pitched in 2023. This is Marsh's second season in the Majors and he currently has a 3.76 ERA, 1.145 WHIP, 46 K's. He was roughed up for 5 runs against the San Diego Padres in his last outing.
