The Mariners head into the White Sox series with a 5-game lead over the Texas Rangers and a 6.5-game lead over the Houston Astros. The Chicago White Sox recently ended a 14-game losing streak and took two out of four from the Boston Red Sox. Jerry Dipoto will get to do some scouting in this series as they could be players for Luis Robert at the trade deadline.

The Mariners need to rebound from their series loss against the Kansas City Royals and beat up on a lowly team like the White Sox. Mariner's pitching needs to get back on track as they gave up 23 runs to the Royals.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Logan Gilbert will get the start for the Mariners, as he looks to build on his All-Star resume. Gilbert has thrown four quality starts in the past five games. On the season he has a 3.12 ERA, .980 WHIP, and 76 strikeouts. Logan really has been one of the better starting pitchers in the league and looks to keep it going tonight against the White Sox.
  • Erick Fedde will go for the Whitesox tonight. Fedde most recently played in the Korean League in 2023. The White Sox signed him to a two-year deal in the off-season. He has been one of the better pitchers for the White Sox, owning a 3.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 73 K's. Fedde throws five different pitches, a sinker, cutter, sweeper, changeup, and 4-seam fastball. He throws each pitch pretty evenly and should be a test for the Mariners' hitters tonight.
