The Mariners in their last 3 series have gone 6-3. Sweeping the Reds and taking 2 out of 3 from both the Colorado Rockies and the Texas Rangers. The Mariners starting rotation has been on a tear lately. Pitching 12 quality starts over the last 14 games. It is safe to say that the pitching has come around and should continue against the Diamondbacks.

Probable Starting Pitchers

  • George Kirby will go for the Mariners in game 2 of the series against the Diamondbacks. Kirby was given an extra day of rest because he came out of his last start against the Rockies feeling a little sore. Kirby was only able to go 5 innings in his last start, striking out 7 and giving up zero runs. Kirby will look to keep it going against Diamondbacks who lead the MLB in scoring.
  • Slade Cecconi will get the start for the Diamondbacks in game 2. Cecconi made his MLB debut on August 2nd of the 2023 season. Ceconni was recalled from Triple-A in replace of injured Merrill Kelly. In his one start this season, Cecconi faced the San Francisco Giants and went 6 innings and gave up 2 runs while striking out 3. Mitch Garver is the only Mariner that has faced Cecconi and he went 0 for 2 against him.
