Seattle Mariners probable pitchers and starting lineups vs. New York Yankees, May 23
After a fascinating opening three games to the series, the Mariners and Yankees face off in the game four finale. Here are the lineups and probably pitchers
The Mariners could only hold back the big bats of the Yankees for so long, and Juan Soto and Aaron Judge were able to show why they have a claim as the most dangerous duo in baseball, bashing three homers in the third game of the series. It led to their first win of the series, and the Yankees head into the finale looking to come out with a 2-2 tie.
It's earlier, but for the Mariners to get out of New York with a 3-1 series win would be massive and would lead to a winning stretch in their Baltimore+New York back-to-back series'. With the offense slowing down in game three, they'll need to pick back up to have a chance against the ever dangerous Evil Empire.
Probable pitchers for tonight's game, May 23
- The Mariners are throwing Luis Castillo in the finale. He is looking to continue quite the impressive streak, as his last seven starts have all been 6+ innings with two or fewer earned runs allowed. With a 2.01 ERA and a .184 BAA, Castillo has been shutting down anyone he faces, including the Rangers, Braves, and Orioles in that stretch.
- On the other side, the Yankees will be throwing Luis Gil. He's been outstanding recently as well, giving up just two runs over his last four starts while throwing 24.1 innings and striking out 27, highlighted by a masterful game against the White Sox in his last outing that saw him K 14. The Mariners need to be careful, or they could be on the wrong end of a double-digit strikeout game.
