Best Moment: Troy Taylor makes his major league debut
Prior to the second game of the series, Seattle called up Troy Taylor from the Arkansas Travelers in Double-A to replace Eduard Bazardo who was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma. Taylor is the 23rd ranked prospect in the team's system and has served as a closer for the Travelers, racking up 16 saves along with a 1.17 ERA in 30.2 innings.
Despite the big jump in competition, Taylor performed admirably. In front of his excited family, he pitched a scoreless ninth inning, striking out Luis Torrens and Tyrone Taylor to secure the win for his team.
Two strikeouts during your big-league debut on @espn’s Sunday Night Baseball? That’ll do.

Congrats, Troy Taylor! pic.twitter.com/h1T1LzJeOa
His sinker got up to 98 mph while his slider sat around the 85 mph mark. He's yet another great pitching talent in the Mariners' pipeline and this outing was hopefully the first of many scoreless appearances for him.
