The Mariners head into the rubber game against the Rangers with the AL West lead on the line. Whoever wins will hold that designation as they finish the series. The Mariners are looking to jump back above .500 while winning their third straight series. The bats have been picking up a bit lately, with the team looking to continue that as they get set to head back home.
Probable pitchers for tonight, April 25
- The Mariners starting pitcher tonight will be Luis Castillo. He is coming off of his best start of the season in which he completely shut down the Rockies through seven innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out 9. His ERA seems high at 4.40, but the FIP of 2.53 shows that Castillo is as dominant as ever. He will need that against a Rangers team that is dangerous 1-9.
- As for the Rangers, they will turn to veteran Andrew Heaney. Outside of the season opener, Heaney has been hit hard in his other three starts. With a 5.80 FIP and a 6.35 ERA, it could be even worse for Heaney as his BABIP against is 51 points below league average. It's a great chance for the Mariners offense to leave the series on a high note, with Heaney pitching 5 innings just once this season.
