The GM meetings have started and while there isn't usually a lot of traffic for signings and trades that happen at these meetings, there are a lot of rumors and speculations on what teams could do. Jerry Dipoto said that he wants to limit strikeouts next year and add guys with high contact and get on base, preferably right-handed batters.
Dipoto said one of the reasons they didn’t offer a qualifying offer to Teoscar Hernandez is trying to find a way to cut down strikeouts in their lineup. They are looking for hitters, preferably right-handed hitters, that can provide offensive impact with less swing and miss.
