Our friends at Homage have been cooking... just not in the kitchen like Guy Fieri. The man behind Flavortown has a new collaboration with Major League Baseball dropping at Homage today.
It features some iconic ballpark food from across the nation - and of course the Seattle Mariners and T-Mobile Park's chapulines are included.
If you've never had the toasted grasshoppers, here's a breakdown.
Introduction: Chapulines were first introduced to Mariners fans in 2017, in partnership with the local Mexican restaurant, Poquitos.
What They Are: Chapulines are roasted grasshoppers seasoned with lime and chili. This traditional Mexican snack is known for its tangy, slightly spicy flavor and crunchy texture.
Presentation: These grasshoppers are served in small paper cups, making them easy to enjoy while watching the game. The combination of lime and chili gives them a zesty kick that pairs well with cold beverages.
Popularity: The introduction of Chapulines was met with great enthusiasm from Mariners fans. They quickly sold out during the first few games they were offered, highlighting their popularity and uniqueness.
Cultural Significance: Chapulines are a traditional snack in Oaxaca, Mexico, and their presence at the ballpark reflects Seattle's diverse culinary scene and the growing interest in international flavors.
Sound pretty good to me. But I suppose the next-best thing is a comfortable, well-fitting t-shirt from Homage.
