Going back throughout the last couple of years for the Mariners, it just seems like this team cannot get out of its own way. Think back to all of the issues that have been a problem for this team, both on and off the field. From Kevin Mather, to Servais throwing Robbie Ray instead of Erik Swanson, to the drama with how the Front Office treated Kyle Seager, to Center Field being skewed and making it hard to hit, to Graveman and Sewald being traded away, and the latest with Servais being let go and finding out not from Dipoto, but from social media.

Well, that would've been the latest if not for the podcast that Casey Sadler and his wife recently released, and the drama that they documented while talking about Sadler's time with the team.

Casey and Marin (his wife) were talking about his time with the Mariners and what makes a good manager. Well, they didn't exactly have the nicest things to say about Scott Servais. It started off by them talking about being at a charity event that say neither one of them get acknowledged by Servais.

He then went on to talk about how this wasn't normal. That AAA managers always went out of their way to say hi to him, even if he wasn't there for long. Also, that his time with Dave Roberts from the Dodgers and ihs time in Tampa, that he felt much more respected and valued.

This goes along with a lot of what you have seen if you follow Sadler on Twitter/X. Essentially, he never got a chance with the Mariners after coming back from his injured shoulder, even when the Mariners needed bullpen arms. He got some looks in Tacoma, but not enough for more than 15 innings or so in 2023.

While Servais ignoring him may not seem like the biggest slight, it does rub me the wrong way. Even just stopping by for a couple of minutes to talk to them, or a text after the fact with a "hey, sorry I missed you, my apologies" would've sufficed. Also, this on it's own isn't a massive deal, but when you pair it with everything else going on in this organization, it just seems odd, and its a bad look.

With the news that Dipoto is extended through 2025 and possibly beyond, there is the potential that events like these could continue to happen, as it's been rumored that Dipoto is a bit thin-skinned, but it's just rumors. There is a lot more noise about him not having good relationships with players. Hopefully, we can see something better going forward from the team, and we seem less of this happening.
