All the hard work Ty France put in at Driveline will reap huge rewards in 2024

There is no way to sugar coat it, Ty France has been bad since he appeared in the All Star game in 2022. But I think there is hope for him to get back to his first half of 2022 self in 2024.

2024 is a huge year for Ty France as a player, he is going into his age 29 season and is just two years away from being a free agent for the first time in his career. I am sure France wants to show the Mariners and other teams that the last year and a half was a fluke and that he is more of the player that he was when he made the All-Star game in 2022.

The first half of 2022 for Ty France was insane, he had a slash line of .308/.376/.470 with an OPS+ of 140. Since then, he has had a slash line of .239/.312/.378 and an OPS+ of 95. The regression has been really noticeable, and I think injuries have much to do with it. Back in 2022, he got his left elbow injured when Sheldon Nuese ran into him on a throw to first. This caused France to compensate and change how he swings and he hasn't been the same since. But there is hope for France this year as he went to Driveline in the offseason, the same place that helped J.P. Crawford have the best season of his career in 2023. Also, Ty looks absolutely jacked coming into the 2024 season.

I was never a part of the let's trade Ty France group. First off, because I thought his value was at an all-time low and didn't think the Mariners would get much back for him. Secondly, because of Driveline and the work he has been putting in this offseason. Fangraphs projects France to have a slash line of .266/.341/.410 in 2024 while hitting 17 HR, being a 2 WAR player, and having an above-average WRC+ of 114. I would be stoked if this was the season that France puts together in 2024 and I also wouldn't be surprised if he outperforms those projections. France will play a huge part in the Mariners' success in 2024, and he's putting in the work necessary to do so.
