A fresh update to MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects list has arrived for July, and Seattle Mariners fans now have another reason to keep a close eye on their farm system. Among the biggest movers is infielder Michael Arroyo, who continues to turn heads with his speedy development and ascension through the minors.
Arroyo jumped 10 spots in the updated rankings, climbing from No. 75 to No. 65 overall — a leap that reflects both his statistical dominance and growing buzz around the league. After an impressive showing in High-A Everett, the 20-year-old was promoted to Double-A Arkansas, where he has wasted no time making his presence felt.
Mariners prospect Michael Arroyo surges up MLB Pipeline rankings
Since arriving at Double-A, Arroyo has been scorching at the plate, slashing .367/.459/.600 through his first eight games. He’s racked up 11 hits in just 30 at-bats, including a home run and six RBIs. Even more impressive is his plate discipline — just three strikeouts and six walks over that span — showcasing his excellent approach at the plate.
Dating back to the beginning of May, Arroyo has been one of the most productive hitters in all of minor league baseball. Over that stretch, he owns a 1.054 OPS — production has carried over into Double-A. The only question now is if he'll have to miss any time after leaving Wednesday's game after his first at-bat.
These new guys are fitting in nicely 🙂↕️

His breakout hasn't gone unnoticed by the league. Arroyo has also been selected to participate in this year’s Futures Game, the annual All-Star Weekend showcase that features baseball’s most promising young stars. For Mariners fans, it’s an early glimpse at what might be a key piece of the franchise’s long-term infield plans.
Arroyo’s game is built on more than just raw numbers. His compact swing and ability to hit to all fields have scouts talking. Originally viewed as more of a project when signed out of Colombia, Arroyo has quickly developed into one of the organization’s most exciting talents — and now, one of the fastest-rising prospects in the sport.
As the Mariners continue to juggle their major league playoff hopes with long-term development, Arroyo’s rise provides an intriguing storyline. With each level he conquers, the timeline for his big-league debut seems to accelerate. Whether he’s destined to suit up for the Mariners or becomes a valuable trade chip, Arroyo’s current trajectory suggests it won’t be long before he transitions from the Futures Game spotlight to everyday life in a big-league ballpark.
