The time has finally come. Football is over, pitchers and catchers have reported to Arizona, and spring training games are just days away. Seattle Mariners fans are excited to get the season underway to see what the offense (and the lack of additions) look like this year. Can Mitch Garver bounce back? How about Jorge Polanco? Will he be more of the 2022-23 version, or will fans be disappointed again? Can Julio Rodriguez put together a full season of elite production, cementing himself as a top-five player in the game? Will the pitching staff be able to remain healthy again?

These are all questions that fans will continuously evaluate throughout the year. All that matters right now, however, is that fans are going to be able to watch Mariners baseball for the next seven (hopefully even more) months.

While most of the roster is currently set, there are a few spots that could be up for grabs. While Polanco is tabbed as the everyday third baseman, Dylan Moore and Ryan Bliss are expected to share duties at second base, Cole Young is a prospect to watch this spring. He had a pretty pedestrian 2024 season, but his high floor, advanced approach and solid defense could make him a name that forces his way on to the Opening Day roster.

Another ares of the roster to keep an eye on is the bullpen. While it looks like the eight-man unit should be set, there are a few names to keep an eye on. Hagen Danner, a catcher turned reliever, lacks experience on the mound (just 114 professional innings) but already looks like someone that will benefit from the Mariners pitching factory. Troy Taylor, a potential high-leverage option for Seattle this year, has been shut down and will not be ready to start spring training after suffering a lat strain. This could potentially open the door for an arm, like Danner, to break the Opening Day roster if Dipoto opts to play it conservatively with the young reliever's injury.
