The Seattle Mariners' 2026 season is finally here! Or just about, which makes it kind of ridiculous that fans only just began learning details on Wednesday for how to watch games on TV. First pitch of their opener against the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday is just hours away!

That's apparently the price a team pays when it trusts Major League Baseball to handle its broadcasts, which might come as a shock to anyone who missed the news of Root Sports' demise. Yeah, it's gone. But since the broadcast crew is the same, it's basically been reborn as Mariners TV.

In any case, the short answer for how to watch Mariners games in 2026 is that it's complicated. The basic options are streaming and TV, but you can't simply pick one and have access to all 162 games.

How to watch the Mariners on cable in 2026

At last, the long local nightmare of not knowing how to watch Mariners games via cable providers is over. We at least know which channels they'll be on for Comcast/Xfinity and DirecTV customers within the Mariners' territory in the Pacific Northwest:

  • Comcast/Xfinity: 1261
  • DirecTV: 687

For Charter/Spectrum customers in the Seattle-Tacoma area, Mariners TV will be channel 414. It will be different for other areas and other providers, so check out the post and links below for more information if needed.

One word of warning is that YouTube TV customers seem to be out of luck. As Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times noted over the weekend, YouTube TV did not carry regional sports networks last year is unlikely to pick any back up for 2026.

How to stream the Mariners without cable in 2026

For viewers in the Pacific Northwest

In this case, we're talking anyone in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, Montana or Hawaii, plus British Columbia or Alberta, Canada. If you qualify, then congrulations on having access to Mariners.TV.

It's the club's new streaming option, and it comes with no local blackouts at the following price points:

  • Per Month: $19.99
  • Per Season: $99.99

Either package also grants access to minor league games and MLB Big Inning. The former is a nice deal-sweetener for this season, as prospects who could end up impacting the Mariners this year include Colt Emerson, Lazaro Montes, Michael Arroyo, Kade Anderson and Ryan Sloan.

For viewers outside the Pacific Northwest

For anyone who doesn't reside in any of the previously mentioned markets, a $149.99 annual subscription to MLB.TV (now via ESPN) will get you access to most Mariners games.

We say "most" because local blackout restrictions still apply to whatever non-PNW market you may be in. To get around those, you have to pony up an extra $50 to get MLB.TV and Mariners.TV for $199.99 for the season.

How to watch the Mariners' out-of-market games in 2026

Ah, but because we're talking Major League Baseball in the year 2026, there are obviously those pesky games that get selected for wider broadcasts on other platforms.

Sunday Night Baseball has moved from ESPN to NBC and Peacock, and the Mariners currently have four of those games on their schedule:

  • March 29: vs. Cleveland Guardians
  • May 17: vs. San Diego Padres
  • July 5: vs. Toronto Blue Jays
  • August 16: at Houston Astros

There's also Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV, for which the Mariners are scheduled for two games:

  • March 27: vs. Cleveland Guardians
  • May 1: vs. Kansas City Royals

Peacock packages start at $7.99 per month and $79.99 per year, while Apple TV goes for $12.99 per month. There are also bundle packages for both services, starting at $14.99 per month.

Happy watching, everyone. No matter how 2026 ends — and we think it will end very well — it's been a long time since the Mariners have entered a new season with this much hype. It should be fun.
