The Seattle Mariners' 10-game winning streak might be over, but the offensive explosion the team just experienced is a fantastic sign for what could be ahead.

According to OptaSTATS on X, the Mariners made history with the dominance they displayed during their streak:

The Mariners showed just how good they can be in their 10-game win streak

The more you think about it, the more impressive those totals become. During their 10-game winning streak, Seattle was winning by an average of five runs per game. They were averaging more than two steals and two home runs per game. And their pitching staff was averaging over 10 strikeouts per game.

Seattle already can lay claim to the best 162-game season any team has ever had. Did they also just have the best 10-game stretch in the history of baseball?

Okay, maybe we are getting ahead of ourselves, but the Mariners played really well. All you have to do is take a look at the slashlines of the Mariners' starting lineup during the stretch.

  • Julio Rodriguez: .390/.457/.707 (1.164 OPS), 2 home runs, 3 stolen bases
  • Cal Raleigh: .316/.480/.789 (1.269 OPS), 5 home runs
  • Randy Arozarena: .289/.440/.395 (.835 OPS), 1 home run, 3 stolen bases
  • J.P. Crawford: .297/.350/.459 (.807 OPS), 1 home run, 1 stolen base
  • Josh Naylor: .324/.350/.622 (.972 OPS), 3 home runs, 4 stolen bases
  • Jorge Polanco: .385/.409/.744 (1.153 OPS), 1 home run (11 doubles!!!)
  • Dominic Canzone: .563/.556/.1.188 (1.743 OPS), 3 home runs
  • Mitch Garver: .231/.286/.615 (.901 OPS), 1 home run

That is pure dominance. The Mariners' superstars, Rodríguez and Raleigh, were both at the peak of their powers during the winning streak, as was Polanco. The middle of the lineup hit well too, fueled by Naylor and Arozarena. Crawford was adding value to the bottom the lineup, and Canzone and Garver provided pop off the bench.

This is what the offense is capable of. This is why the Mariners have so much potential in the playoffs. If their stars do what they do best at the plate in October, the Seattle Mariners could be unstoppable.
