One. Series. Left. That’s it. We start October TIED FOR THE LAST WILD CARD SPOT. It’s so close, yet there is still a lot that the Mariners will need to accomplish, and their focus will need to be razor-sharp heading into the finale against the Angels.

Look, it’s been a long time since we were in a position like this. For once, the M’s are in charge of their own destiny. Win out, and you guarantee at least a play-in game for the wild card spot.

Then, there is the conversation of whether or not that wild card v wild card game counts as making the playoffs. We can save that argument for another day. For now, let’s all rejoice in the fact that they are playing meaningful baseball in October. It starts with the final series of the year (that sounds like a weird sentence) against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Mariners vs Angels Odds Today

No surprise here because of who’s pitching for the Mariners tonight (more on that below), but the Mariners are favored in tonight’s game at -170 (Bet $170 to win $100) with the Angels at +145 (Bet $100 to win $145).

When it comes to the spread, the M’s are +120 at -1.5 (If you beat $100 and they win by two or more, you win $120), with the Angels sitting at -140 at +1.5 (If they lose by one or win, you win $100 on a $140 bet).

If all you are concerned with is the run total in the game, the over-under is set at 7.5. If you like the over, it’s -115 (Bet $115 to win $100) and the under is -105 (Bet $105 to win $100).

Mariners Pitcher Today: Marco Gonzales

Marco takes the mound tonight, and it’s going to be nice having the Vet on the bump for the M’s. He has had one bad start in his last 14 outings (giving up five in five innings to Arizona), but in the other 13, he has a record of 9-0 with an ERA of 2.43. Not too shabby.

It’s the type of stretch many thought Marco to be capable of and comes at exactly the right time. He has already saved the Mariners a couple of times in September, and with the calendar turning to October, looks to do so once again.

His season ERA is down to 4.00, and a good start could lower it to a career-best for a full season.

Mariners Starting Lineup

Some spots to watch from the lineup for tonight. Torrens is up in the five spot, with Murphy behind the plate and Moore in the 9th spot.

Mariners vs Angels Prediction Today

I’m riding this wave, and I don’t think there is anything you can do or say that would toss me off of it. I wouldn’t care if Ohtani was starting, Trout was back, Garret Anderson, Tim Salmon, Troy Glaus, and Mo Vaughn all showed up in their prime in the lineup. I’m still taking the Mariners tonight.

There’s been a decent amount of scoring in the season series so far, so I’m going with an M’s win, 6-3. Plus, let’s throw a Ty France home run in there. A win by two or more plus the over on runs is +311. Not too shabby!
