The Yankees can’t handle a glare from Mariners pitcher Kendall Graveman

Wasn’t yesterday’s game fun? The Seattle Mariners pitching staff absolutely dominated the New York Yankees and were able to hold the big market team to just one hit. To make the game even more interesting, tensions got high at the end of the game thanks to Kendall Graveman.

After getting Rougned Odor to fly out for the first out of the top of the ninth, Graveman barely nicked DJ LeMahieu. And in a very soft fashion, LeMahieu yelled “f*@$ you” to Kendall Graveman. I don’t know about you, but I think the Yankees were just frustrated and they finally snapped.

The Yankees acted like babies against the Seattle Mariners and I don’t blame them

It has been a tough year for the team with the second-highest payroll in major league baseball. You would expect such a large salary team to succeed right?

Well, guess what, even the Seattle Mariners who have the sixth-lowest payroll have a better record than the Yanks. New York is currently in fourth place in the AL West behind the Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, and Toronto Blue Jays.

As you could imagine, fans have been frustrated and the team has been under a lot of fire. Some people even think Aaron Boone is on the hot seat because he is not meeting expectations.

So how does all of this relate to the Seattle Mariners game? I just think the Yankees have been very frustrated so I don’t really blame them for showing their soft emotions. Losing is hard especially when you have such a large payroll, and everyone hates you.

I think it even got more frustrating that the Yankees couldn’t touch our rookie Logan Gilbert. The young prospect had his best start of the season and he was just flat-out nasty.

The Seattle Mariners sort of get into it with the Yankees

If you look back at the video, Kendall Graveman barely hit DJ LeMahieu. I just don’t understand why LeMahiue was so angry. I mean Tom Murphy even caught it. The ball barely changed direction.

I am sure it’s scary enough to face Kendall Graveman but you’re going to cuss him out? Get over it DJ.

And then after Graveman finished the game, he stared LeMahieu down, because why not? I would too if he was acting like a little baby.

After the game, LeMahieu said he was angry with Graveman because he threw inside to Odor first, and then threw inside again to DJ. But, I can’t believe LeMahieu thought Kendall did that on purpose.

There is zero reason for our best reliever to intentionally hit a batter in such a high leverage ball game. The Mariners were trying to avoid the sweep so I doubt an intentional bean even came to mind.

That being said, I think the Yankees’ frustration finally came to a boiling point and tried to take it out on the Mariners. I think they are just jealous that we have a better record than them even in a rebuild/pilot season. You can’t help but chuckle.
