Although we are still counting down the days until Mariners Opening Day, Spring Training games start tomorrow which is fantastic news!

Seattle will only play 28 games instead of the original 33 games that were scheduled last fall. The Mariners will only get two days off, so it will be a grueling month for the players and staff.

Tomorrow’s Mariners Spring Opener

Seattle is going to start off Spring Training against one of the best teams in the MLB after a very busy offseason. The San Diego Padres are trying to build their lineup to match the reigning champion Dodgers and they are making Dodgers fans nervous, I think.

Just look at the names on the revamped Padres roster. The starting rotation: Yu Darvish, Blake Snell, Dinelson Lamet, Joe Musgrove, and Chris Paddack. The offense: Austin Nola, Eric Hosmer, Jake Cronenworth, Ha-Seong Kim, Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., Tommy Pham, Trent Grisham, and Wil Myers.

Now that is the type of star power the Mariners want to have in a few years.

It will be interesting to see how the Mariners face this huge challenge especially since we have all had a long week with the chaos around Kevin Mather’s words.

The Mariners will battle the Padres at 12:10 Pacific Time as the home team and it will be broadcasted on 710 ESPN Seattle. ROOT Sports will televise eight games this Spring, and unfortunately, this first game will not be on TV.

Ryan Divish also noted that both teams have enough pitchers to play a full game tomorrow.

But, ROOT Sports will televise these Mariners games. The Reds, Rockies, Brewers, Angels, White Sox, Dodgers, Cubs, and Giants.

It will be a super exciting Spring Training because we have already seen big changes. Yusei Kikuchi slimmed down. Justin Dunn also slimmed down and got a new changeup. Jarred Kelenic is hungry and hitting dingers. Evan White adjusted his stance a little. And my most favorite out of all of them is Mitch Haniger is back.
