A few days ago, we sent out a poll for Mariners fans on our social media platforms, including Twitter (@sodomojoFS) and our Facebook page. One question we wanted to know is how you felt about Jerry Dipoto.

If you would like to have your voice heard, you can fill it out here. The poll covers a variety of topics relating to the Seattle Mariners including today’s question: Agree or Disagree? Jerry Dipoto has the team on the right track. Thus far, we have received 170 responses. And the results have been overwhelming.

When asked, 97.1% of our poll takers agreed with the statement that Jerry Dipoto has the Mariners on the right track. This isn’t just an overwhelming and ringing endorsement of Dipoto but is the biggest blowout we could have ever imagined.

It is a shocking number, there is no way around it. But we need to acknowledge how big of sample size 170 respondents are. It is minuscule. There are millions of Mariners fans and if we polled every single one of them, this number would absolutely fall. But our readers have been impressed with Dipoto’s work thus far.

Taking the farm system from one of the three worst to one of the 10 best is impressive. So too is the cleansing of the roster from bloated veteran contracts. He has acquired young MLB players like J.P. Crawford, Marco Gonzales, and Mitch Haniger.

Dipoto’s greatest challenge is ahead of him, but after acquiring Jarred Kelenic, Julio Rodriguez, Logan Gilbert, Evan White, George Kirby, Justin Dunn, Justus Sheffield, and Jake Fraley, fans are apparently fairly confident in Dipoto.

With a shortened season at best, a five-round mock draft, an unknown trade deadline scenario, and questions surrounding the off-season, Dipoto will have his work cut out for him. But fans believe in the direction of the team under Dipoto, which is a positive going forward.
