Wade Miley will make his official Seattle Mariners debut against the Texas Rangers and try to extend the Mariners win streak to two.

The Seattle Mariners (1-1) will take on the Texas Rangers (1-1) on Wednesday morning in Arlington, Texas. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 am from Global Life Park. Wade Miley (0-0 0.00 ERA) will take the hill for the Mariners, and Colby Lewis (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will start for the Rangers.  They will look to help their team win the first series of 2016.

Wade Miley will make his official Seattle Mariners debut today in the early game against the Rangers.  Wade Miley is 0-2 in Arlington in this stadium with a 4.63 ERA.  The 29 year old faced Texas twice last year with the Red Sox and went 1-1 with a 5.73 ERA.  This will be his first start with the Mariners.  There’s no better way to make your debut with a new team than with a win.  The 6-foot-2 bearded left hander will be looking to get a good start to the season and with his new team.

Colby Lewis will make his first start for the Rangers in this new season.  This will be his sixth season with the Texas Rangers.  The Cobra faced the Mariners twice last season and lost both times despite a 3.95 ERA.  In fact the 6-foot-4 right hander from Bakersfield, California has a 6-6 record in his 5 years with the Rangers against the Mariners.  Lewis will face a different Mariners lineup as Scott Servais will load the lineup with left handed hitters to face the big right hander today.

Mariners skipper Scott Servais and Rangers manager Jeff Banister have released the following lineups for today’s ballgame:

Seattle Mariners Manager Scott Servias has changed his lineup to adjust for the right hander the Mariners will be facing.  Left hander Leonys Martin will bat leadoff and play center field against Lewis.  Kyle Seager will move into the number two spot.  Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz  who hit home runs last night will look to stay hot and will stay in their normal spots at third and fourth hitters.  Adam Lind will bat fifth and play first base.  Seth Smith who hit one of the four home runs last night will DH and bat sixth.  Switch hitting Luis Sardinas who also homered will bat seventh and play left field.  Steve Clevenger will bat eighth and catch for Wade Miley today.  He will be making his Mariners debut as well.  And batting ninth will be switch hitting Ketel Marte.  The only right hander in the lineup against Colby Lewis is Nelson Cruz.   Nori Aoki will not start today after taking a foul ball off the shin, however he will be available to come off the bench and pinch hit.

The Mariners will look to win the series against the Rangers before they take a day off for travel to have their home opener on Friday in Seattle.  Emotions ran high last night in Arlington as both dugouts emptied.  Tom Wilhelmsen gave up extra base hit after extra base hit to the Mariners until he hit Chris Iannetta and was ejected.  Hopefully the Mariners continue their power display against the Rangers and the rest of the AL West.  The Mariners now have six home runs in only two games.  If the Mariners can get out of Arlington with a win they would have won their first series of the year and will be over .500 for the first time in the young season.

Today’s game will be broadcast by Root Sports Northwest and MLB.tv subscribers can watch worldwide on connected devices. Fans from the Pacific Northwest can listen to Rick Rizzs and Aaron Goldsmith call the action on 710 ESPN Radio.
