M’s Send Felix to Hill Looking For Split
The Mariners won last night. All is right with the world. The M’s got a near no-no from Vidal Nuno and some great hitting from Kyle Seager and Mark Trumbo.
Seager was 4-4 and hit a mammoth homer to the right center field gap off lefty Martin Perez.
Here’s the lineups for today’s 12:40 pm start. And as usual, my thoughts follow below.
1. Derek Holland is on the mound for the Rangers. He’s been awesome since his return from injury and dominated the Mariners just a few weeks ago. This could be a tough one for the M’s.
2. HAPPY FELIX DAY! Felix is back after having his last start skipped. I’m in favor of Felix having been skipped and I hope to see a sharp and energized King this afternoon as the M’s go for a series split.
3. Nelson Cruz is back today! The Boomstick is back from his quadriceps injury and the M’s need him against a tough lefty.
4. Seth Smith is playing today against a lefty. That’s the spot that Franklin Gutierrez should be. I miss Guti.
5. Mark Trumbo and Kyle Seager are on fire. That’s how it was supposed to be when the M’s acquired Trumbo. Both are working on double-digit hit streaks and hopefully that continues this afternoon.
6. It’s a day game. I’m just happy to not have to be up until 1 a.m. watching!
Let’s go M’s! Happy Felix Day!
