Seattle Mariners King’s Court: The Shirt Has Been Decided!

After a few weeks of a three shirt online pole, the Seattle Mariners have unveiled their 2015 King’s Court tee-shirt for all of Felix Hernandez‘s home game starts.

Here is the revealing tweet:

The other two options included a shirt that read: “our King beats your Ace”; and a graphic of King Felix dealing between ‘King’ and Felix.’

What’s the point of explaining it when I can just share the handy graphic? Here it is:

Personally, the selecting shirt is my least favorite of the three. I like the abrasive, chippy chirp of the King beating the Ace, especially because Seattle fans tend to be the least-trash talking, most polite fans I’ve ever met– at the Mariners games at least.

I also enjoy the third shirt with the autograph underlying Felix in his tuck and curl windup. And I like that it displays his regal title prominently.

The ‘winning’ shirt is just a little too styled for me. I love the crown with Felix etched in it, and I like the autograph too, but the placement on the shirt is just too asymmetrical for me to get on board with. It’s almost like the shirt is trying too hard to be awesome. Even if the shirt was just yellow and said Felix on it it would be awesome.

Regardless, though, I will be making a King’s Court appearance in 2015, as I haven’t been in Seattle for a Felix home start since 2012. And I will rock that shirt with pride.

So what do you think about the new King’s Court duds? Will you be making any treks to the section by the foul pole in 2015?

Whether you’re there or not 2015 will be a year to remember for the Seattle Mariners. The team is hungry, confident, and Felix vows to be better than his Cy Young-worthy 2014 season.

If you’re excited about the tee-shirts, it’s a double dose of happy. Either way it should be a helluva season.
