The 2014-15 Hot Stove season is just around the corner. The Seattle Mariners only have a few players that will be hitting the free agent market. There is a chance that none of them will be retained. Chris Young and Joe Beimel will possibly receive new contracts. Hisashi Iwakuma will likely have his optioned picked up.
Here is a list of the players who will either be free agents, or could become free agents if options are not picked up for 2015. We can assume that the Mariners will not be targeting catchers, third basemen, second basemen or closers. Everyone else is on the table, especially if they bat right-handed.
In the comment section below, tell us who you would try to sign, if you were the Mariners GM. And be sure to check back Monday night for the 2014 version of “If I were the Mariners GM” series. A five-part series focusing on what moves I would make (not trade for Yasiel Puig, don’t worry) if I had the reins for a day.
