So, the Mariners failed to take advantage of a day in which the Royals and Athletics both lost. The Mariners are still just a half game back of Kansas City for the 2nd AL wild card spot and a game back of Oakland for the first wild card. But they are taking on the Astros in the series finale and Hisashi Iwakuma is on the hill.
While that would normally excite M’s fans, ‘Kuma has been anything but stellar of late.
In his last five starts, Iwakuma has an ERA of 9.28 and opponents are batting .323 against him. In his 10 previous starts, he was 7-2 with an ERA of 1.63.
So which Iwakuma do the Mariners get today?
We’ll keep you updated on the game here – in case you aren’t able to watch – and we will also update you on the two big games that matter most to the Mariners in their Hunt For Teal October.
