8:07 AM: The A’s strike again, dealing Tommy Milone to the Twins for Sam Fuld. The Mariners had been suggested as a possible landing spot for both players but once again, miss out.

6:48 AM: Jon Lester has been traded according to tweets by Jeff Passan and Jon Heyman. The Mariners were thought to be at least interested in bringing the Tacoma native back to the Pacific NW, but it appears for the moment that he along with Jonny Gomes will go to the AL West-leading Athletics for Yoenis Cespedes.

6:45 AM: The Mariners have been scouting Emilio Bonifacio of the Chicago Cubs. According to Bob Dutton’s insider blog at The News Tribune, Mariners fans may not quite understand the move, as it’s not a big name they were hoping for. But as Dutton points out, when Kansas City acquired him at the deadline, he was the spark plug for the last two months.

Also according to Dutton, the Mariners have offers out to other GM’s, it’s just a matter of hearing back.
