Brad Miller Delivers Game-Winner For Mariners In 14th

Brad Miller entered the 14th inning with an 0-for-5 day, but walked away the hero as his RBI double in the top of the 14th gave the Mariners the eventual 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox Saturday.

Felix Hernandez pitched seven scoreless innings allowing only a hit in the first and a walk in the 4th, but the White Sox got to him in the 8th. An RBI double by Dayan Viciedo and a sac fly by Tyler Flowers put the Sox on the board 2-0 going into the 9th.

But the Mariners rallied in the 9th, thanks to a sac fly by Mike Zunino and an RBI single by Michael Saunders. Miller had a chance to give the M’s the lead with two on and two out, but he lined out to left to end the rally.

The bullpen did their job, to the tune of six scoreless innings allowing only one hit and one walk. Fernando Rodney closed out the 14th to earn his 25th save of the season.

The Mariners go for the series win today with Taijuan Walker on the mound.
