There have been players in Major League baseball history that have had some interesting tattoos, like the one above of former Cubs (now Red Sox) third baseman Ryan Roberts.

The Mariners don’t have that much ink on one player, but the Mariners have some players who have had some interesting ink on their arms, necks or legs.

Doesn’t matter where, I just think that we should take a look at some of the players who have had the best tattoos. And talk a little bit about them besides their tattoos as we’ll and see what they have done in their career.

Taijuan Walker

What can you say about the “Fresh Prince of Seattle”? First off he’s one of the biggest Fresh Prince of Bel Air fan ever. He’s a phenom that has covered both of his arms in some pretty interesting ink work.

Not only did he cover his arms in ink but he’s also gotten both of the back of his hands tatted up as well……OUCH! Tatted or no tats, Walker still has a destiny to fulfill in Seattle.

He is currently making his first rehab start and is hoping to make his season debut this next month. Hopefully Seattle’s tatted up Fresh Prince can stay healthy this time to make his long awaited 2014 debut next month.

Joe Beimel

What can you say about Beimel? You gotta love the beard, you love the way he pitches, and you have to love his right sleeve tattoo. One of the more colorful tattoos I’ve seen.

Beimel last year finished up his tattoo sleeve by getting his wrist to the back of his hand done. He started his sleeve tattoo when he was with the Los Angeles Dodgers, it started out as just a shoulder and then he added one on his forearm.

When he then was signed with the Nationals and the Rockies he really began to get his entire arm tatted, he finished his arm when he was with the Pirates when he got the rest of his arm done.

Since being out of baseball he’s since got the back of his hand tatted. Cant really make out any of his tats but its still looks cool.

Corey Hart

Okay, now out of all 5 of these players Hart has some of the most unusual tattoos on the team. For one thing both the back of his hands are tatted and he has a woman’s face on his right forearm.

None of his tattoos make any sense to me and in my opinion, he has the worst tattoos on this team. Hart made his major league debut with the Milwaukee Brewers and once the Brewers really gave Hart a shot to start everyday all he did was produce.

During his time in Milwaukee he set career highs in 2010, when he was elected to his second All Star game, hitting 31 home runs and driving in 102. Hart’s knees may not be the same but he’s had a couple game for Seattle where he’s been the difference.

He was the real difference in the Mariners home opener when he hit two big home runs to help the M’s win.

Nick Franklin

Franklin now has the 2nd worst tattoos on the team. That spider web tattoo on his left elbow honestly has me wondering…..do people get tattoos just to get them? If so then there could have been a better choice than a spider web on your elbow.

Franklin made his “fan’s begging for his call up” debut last year. In just his third game he hit his first two big league home runs and Mariners fans were thinking that “this is the player we’ve been waiting for”.

Unfortunately Franklin didn’t have the greatest 2nd half of the 2013 season where he only batted .194 during the 2nd half and he struck out 77 times.

Franklin though is hoping, since being called up for the second time this year, to be the hitter the Mariners want him to be.

Felix Hernandez

King Felix clearly has the best tats on the team. From his neck tattoo to his arm tats. He has his kids names tatted on his wrists which he kissed after the final out in his perfect game.

On his right arm he has three stars with the years that he was named an All Star. Felix also has lion tatted on his left forearm. Since Felix Hernandez began his career with the Mariners at the age of 19 he has done nothing but dominate.

His 9 year career has seen him be a 3x All Star, throw an immaculate inning, win the 2010 AL Cy Young award, and pitch the team’s first perfect game in franchise history.

Felix is known as “The King” and that’s what he’s been, he’s Seattle’s King and possibly the best pitcher in the major, along with being the best tatted player on the team too.
