The biggest news of the week was arguably the return of Iwakuma. His return to the rotation brings a little stability back to the starting five. But what could also be argued as the biggest news of the week came Sunday, with the news that Abraham Almonte had been optioned back to Triple-A Tacoma.

To say Almonte had been struggling to start the season would be a VAST understatement. In 27 games, Almonte was 2nd in all of Major League Baseball with 40 strikeouts. Only Giancarlo Stanton and Marcus Semien had more (31) but in more games than Almonte (31 and 30 respectively).

Lucas Luetge was sent back to Tacoma to make room for Iwakuma. James Jones was recalled from Tacoma to replace Almonte.
