In a move that is more than likely going to upset more fans than it will create, the Seattle Mariners will seek to trade with the New York Yankees to bring Alex Rodriguez back to Seattle for the 2015 season.

The disgraced third baseman is serving a season-long suspension for his role in the Biogenesis scandal and has all but run himself out of New York. But Seattle, desperate to put butts in seats and protection in the lineup behind Robinson Cano, are talking about possible trade scenarios for A-Rod.

According to a Mariners front office intern speaking under the conditions of anonymity, the Mariners are talking with the Yankees about a trade that would send Alex to Seattle for Danny Farquhar. Sweetening the deal, the Yankees have agreed to pay 3/4 of the remaining salary on A-Rod’s ridiculous contract.

“We would love to have Alex back with us to end his career,” the Mariners general manager said in a statement. “I feel like he was an important piece to the puzzle in 1995 and a big part of the turnaround this organization experienced back then. But I cannot comment at this time as to whether or not we are discussing a trade.”

When asked to comment on the trade rumor, Alex released a statement through his agent.

I would love to go back to Seattle to finish my career. They throw money at me from the stands every time I visit. I live off that kind of energy and adoration. With Derek (Jeter) retiring after this season and me missing that, it would be nice to play with Robbie (Cano) again.

What do you think Mariners fans? Do you want to see A-Rod come back to Seattle and put on the Teal one more time? Or have you seen right through this ruse for the complete work of fiction that it is?

No one wants A-Rod back in Seattle. Not the fans, not the front office, not A-Rod.

Just having a little fun with ya on this, the first day of April. Happy day after Opening Day everyone.
