The 2013 version of the Seattle Mariners was a major disappointment for diehard Mariner fans, casual M’s fans, general baseball fans and non-fans alike.
So it should come as no surprise that the team has every possible free agent on their wishlist. Not to mention, every possible player that may be available for a trade.
During this past week, the Seattle Mariners have been linked to having had interest in the following players:
- Matt Garza
- Masahiro Tanaka
- Nelson Cruz
- Dexter Fowler
- Matt Kemp
- Brian Wilson
- Mike Napoli
- Kendrys Morales
- Jhonny Peralta
- Shin-Soo Choo
- Carlos Beltran
- Billy Butler
- Marlon Byrd
And I’m sure I left someone off the list. In fact, is seems that the one person they have absolutely no interest in is the one player most Mariners fans have expressed a desire to sign– Jacoby Ellsbury.
So that leads us to today’s tweet by ESPN’s Buster Olney:
(Everyone says) “DUH!”
Isn’t that a lofty goal?
Of course, we would all love to see this happen. For example; Matt Garza, Brian Wilson, Matt Kemp and Kendrys Morales. Would you be happy with that?
I’ll personally be happy if they can bring in one of them….even if it’s only Morales.
