Woah.
As the Mariners get set to take on the Angels tonight in the first game of a pivotal four-game set, they’ll do with some more different faces in the dugout.
First, the bad news: Charlie Furbush has been sent to the disabled list…
Furbush has been excellent this season. Opponents are hitting .174 against him, which according to Johns, is the second lowest BA against in a first half in Mariners history.
Taking his place on the roster is lefty Vidal Nuno, who was just recently sent down.
After taking two losses in the series against the Tigers, Mayckol Guaipe has been sent to Tacoma and we welcome back Danny Farquhar.
And the big news for the M’s is that Jesus Montero is back, taking the place of JA Happ. Happ won’t be needed until after the all-star break, so he can throw a game at Class A Bakersfield. He’ll be back.
I like that role for Montero. The M’s will face CJ Wilson in this series, and Montero can hopefully continue to hit like he has been in AAA.

Other Roster Notes:
Austin Jackson is unavailable today. He’ll avoid the disabled list, however. Here’s the lineup for today:
Robinson Cano heads back to the No. 2 spot, hitting well this month. Seager heads back to the No. 4 spot in the rotating middle of the lineup.
I like the M’s chances with Felix on the mound tonight against this Angels lineup. Lets go get it.
This is the series that will make or break the M’s season. Simply put.
Go M’s.
