The Mariners are hosting Top Golf at T-Mobile Park this week, from February 17th-20th. They’ve got bays set up, and it makes for an interesting offseason adventure to make your way to the stadium for a chance to hit some golf balls.

When the event was announced, I immediately started checking in with some friends. It seemed like a great thing to go and try. Unfortunately, between work schedules, family stuff, and the 2-hour drive it takes for us to get to Seattle, none of us were going to be able to go.

Then, I received an invite to show up as a member of the media. Everyone out there should always try and work hard at their side hustle because it will occasionally pay off with getting to do cool things. With writing about golf and baseball, having a baseball podcast, and coaching golf, I was invited down as a member of the media to check it out.

The Mariners and Top Golf did a great job at setting up a range inside the confines of T-Mobile

As I was there throughout the day, I tried to mix taking it all in with sharing pictures of the experience on Twitter.

It’s an incredible setup. They’ve got 24 bays along the right field line, and you hit out into the field.

There are a few different sets of targets, and the more you challenge yourself, the more rewards are placed at your fingertips.

First, there is a set of three red targets, with scores ranging from 10-100. Further out are two yellows, and those go from 20-200. Lastly, there is a blue target where you can go from 40-400.

The two sets of interior targets are located in the infield, and are easily reachable with wedges. The blue target is around 140 yards (they say) and is a good 9-iron to get there.

We got to spend two hours hitting there thanks to Spencer, and it was a blast the entire time. If you’ve got the time or ability to do so, you should definitely make the trip to T-Mobile and give the Mariners Top Golf experience a try!
