I am sure all of you remember watching this, or at least watching a highlight of this…. It was my favorite moment of the 2020 season.
First things first, there was extremely bad haze due to the wildfires. It looked sort of cool on television, but I can’t imagine what it was like for Kyle Lewis.
The Seattle Mariners got into an early jam and Ramon Laureano crushed a hanging curveball, and Kyle Lewis comes to the rescue.

I love listening to Dave Sims’ call and he said it best: “Wow! He made the catch. Oh baby!”
Kyle had a long ways to go and made a leaping grab by the Jimmy John’s sign to end the inning. This was the defensive play of the season for the Seattle Mariners, and it could have been for the entire MLB.
Not only was this an amazing play by Kyle, it helped him with his AL ROY bid. During September, he was struggling and lost a little traction. But, after making this play, he quickly reminded MLB fans that he is still looking to win the Rookie of the Year Award.
These are my 5 favorite moments from the 2020 Mariners season, and I am sure there are some more. Which ones did I miss? Let us know in the comments!
