Clinton LumberKings – 31-62, 7th Place in Midwest League Western Division

Not – Joe DeCarlo – 3B

Joe DeCarlo has had a miserable season in 2015, and his play has seemingly hit a new low in the month of July. DeCarlo is hitting .146 with 2 doubles, 1 home run and 4 RBI’s across 15 games this month. It is safe to say that the former 2nd round pick has failed to meet expectations during his first 4 seasons in the organization. DeCarlo’s future is cloudy at best, and I would not be surprised if he is cut loose at season’s end.

Not – Lukas Schiraldi – RHP

The University of Texas alum has enjoyed a solid season in 2015 with Clinton, however he has struggled in the month of July. Lukas Schiraldi is 0-3 with a 4.24 ERA over his last 3 outings. He has struck out 12 and walked 6 across his last 17 innings pitched. It is natural for a young player to hit a speed bump, and hopefully that is all this is for Schiraldi.

Not – Arby Fields – CF

Arby Fields is having a good season for the LumberKings, but he has been scuffling a bit during the past couple weeks. The LSU alum is hitting .200 with 1 double, 2 RBI’s and 5 stolen bases in July. Fields plays a pretty good center field, and his wheels are very impressive. I expect the 24-year-old to regain his form shortly, and possibly make a run at the big leagues in 2017.

Not – Patrick Peterson – LHP

The 22-year-old southpaw is 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA in July for Clinton. Patrick Peterson has fanned 7 and walked 6 over his last 17 innings pitched. After starting the season 4-1, Peterson has struggled to maintain his level of performance. Consistency will be key for Peterson during the final half of the season.
