Looking Ahead

The Mariners played some quality ball this weekend, and their ascent in the American League West has been staggering. The M’s were in last place in the AL West prior to first pitch on Friday night, but they have climbed all the way to 3rd over the past 3 games. Seattle trails the division leading Houston Astros by 5.5 games.

Monday is an off day for the Seattle Mariners (14-17), but the San Diego Padres (17-16) will be in town on Tuesday night to play the M’s. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 pm from the corner of Edgar & Dave. James Paxton (0-2, 5.08 ERA) will be charged with extending the Mariners’ winning streak to 4 games on Tuesday evening. The Padres have yet to announce a starter for the series opener, but it safe to say the surging Mariners will present a tough matchup for whomever Bud Black selects. Root Sports Northwest will carry the game live locally, and MLB.tv subscribers can watch on connected devices.
