Clinton LumberKings – A – 7-8

Hot – SS Gianfranco Wawoe (.359, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 SB), SP Pat Peterson (2-1, 1.15 ERA, 15.2 IP), P Osmer Morales (0-1, 2.45 ERA, 11.0 IP), RP Ryan Horstman (2-0, 0.00 ERA, 7.1 IP)

Gianfranco Wawoe is having a stellar first two weeks with the Clinton LumberKings. Wawoe has shown true 5-tool potential, and is quickly making a name for himself in Clinton. I personally hope he makes the big leagues one day if for no other reason than so I can say the name Gianfranco Wawoe a few more times.

Not – RF Alex Jackson (.157, 0 HR, 9 RBI, 0 SB), 1B Kristian Brito (.195, 0 HR, 6 RBI, 0 SB), SP Daniel Missaki (0-1, 5.29 ERA, 17.0 IP), SP Tyler Herb (0-0, 7.31 ERA, 16.0 ERA)

It has been a bit of a mixed bag for Alex Jackson, but overall the 2014 first rounder has been a disappointment during the first 2 weeks of the season. Jackson leads the LumberKings with 9 RBI’s, but his .157 batting average and .216 slugging percentage are very disconcerting. Jackson is only 19-years-old, and I believe he will play much better for Clinton in the coming weeks. AJ looked great with the M’s this spring in Peoria, and I still think will make his debut in Seattle within the next couple seasons.
